Navy Football Ranked 23rd in Final Polls

1/20/2026 1:33:00 PM

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The 2025 Navy football team finished the season ranked 23rd in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll.

Navy fell one spot in the AP poll despite beating Cincinnati 35-13 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. It is only the fourth time since 1963 that Navy has ended the season ranked in the AP poll and the first time since 2019. The Mids climbed two spots in the Coaches Poll.

The win over Cincinnati tied the school record (2019 and 2015) with 11 victories. It also gave Navy 21 victories over the last two seasons — the most in program history — and marked the first time the Mids have recorded back-to-back seasons with 10 or more wins.

The Mids defeated Army to win the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2012-13.

The Lambert Trophy, awarded to the top team in the East, will be announced at 2 p.m. Wednesday. If Navy wins, it would mark just the second Lambert Trophy for the program since 1963 (also won in 2015).
