No Place Like Home
The Mids have posted an impressive 22-14-18 mark at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility since the start of the 2021 season … Navy has outscored opponents, 73-51, in those 54 games … Navy was 3-3-6 at home last season, outscoring opponents by a 15-14 edge at GWSF in those 12 games.

Last Time Out
Taking an early lead against one of the top teams in the Patriot League, Navy could not hold on Saturday night in a 2-1 loss to Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa. … Using Ryan Skandalis' first collegiate goal at 21' and some favorable breaks on the defensive end, the Mids took the lead into halftime, but an unrelenting push by the Mountain Hawks in the second half led to Massimo Talarico's tally in the 63rd minute and a penalty-kick conversion by Bora Turker at 68', moving Lehigh into possession of first place in the league standings and extending its unbeaten streak to seven-straight games … Sam Clark finished the night with three saves in net while Anton Kinnunen did not have to record a save in the winning decision.

Clark Stepping Up
After Dylan Carmody went down with an injury in the second game of the season, Sam Clark has stepped into the starting role and solidified the Mids' net by going 2-3-4 … Dating back to the Aug. 28 match against George Washington through the Sept. 12 game at Holy Cross, Clark had posted a shutout streak of 408:29 … Clark's three-straight shutouts from Aug. 31 to Sept. 8 were the most by a Navy netminder since Pierce Holbrook's three consecutive clean sheets from Sept. 19-30, 2023 … Clark's .829 save percentage and 0.854 goals against average both sit second in the league, while his .444 shutout percentage ranks third among league goalkeepers … The .829 save percentage ranks 21st in the country and the 0.654 goals against average ranks 33rd nationally, while the 34 total saves stand 50th in Division I.

Navy Notes
Will Cawlfield and Nick Gallucci are tied for second in the Patriot League with their three assists apiece on the season … Jack Illig and Cohen Nance's two goals each are good to be tied for third in league scoring … Duncan Sullivan sits third in the Patriot League with 23 total shots and fourth with 12 shots on goal … Navy is 4-0-2 when Sullivan records a point, while the Mids are 2-1-3 when Gallucci tallies a point and 2-0-3 when Cawlfield registers a point … Navy's 0.400 shutout percentage ranks 37th nationally.

Scouting the Opponent
Colgate arrives in Annapolis on a nine-game winless streak, but have posted draws in back-to-back contests to gain momentum in the league standings … Following a scoreless tie at Bucknell the week before, the Raiders drew Lafayette, 1-1, last Saturday thanks to a 90th-minute goal from Otto Bourne … Gavin Vichengrad earned his first collegiate start against American on Sept. 11 after Christian Kellogg was unable to play due to injury, and has made 23 saves in four starts to post a .821 save percentage … Bourne and Ryan Schachter are tied for the team lead with three points each … Former all-league performer Blake Pipkin paces the team with 20 shots, putting 14 on goal.

Series History
Navy is 15-17-7 in the all-time series with Colgate, going 1-2-2 in the last five meetings … The Mids are 8-4-5 at home all-time against the Raiders … The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in the Raiders' last trip to Annapolis on Sept. 28, 2024, as goals from Nate Stewart and Charlie Kriel helped the Mids battle back from an early deficit … Last year's meeting had Colgate tally a 2-0 win in Hamilton on Oct. 4, as goalkeeper Robert Eaton kept Navy even with Colgate in the first half, but the Raiders' Blake Pipkin buried his own rebound in the 52nd minute to give the hosts a lead and then set up Alex St. John for the game's second goal 11 minutes later to hold off the Mids.

Up Next
The Mids will head to Chester, Pa., on Friday, Oct. 9 for Army-Navy Cup XV. The historic rivals are set for a 7:05 p.m. start at Subaru Park, the home of the MLS' Philadelphia Union.
