BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) announced its weekly award winners and Navy attacker Kiefer Black was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts last weekend. The senior helped Navy to a 2-1 record over the weekend – dropping a close game to #19 Harvard (L, 15-10), defeating LIU (W, 17-10), and defeating Brown (W, 18-14).
 
Black finished the weekend with a team-high 19 points on a team-best 15 goals and four assists.
 
Needing 10 points to reach 500 career points, the senior attacker finished day one of the Brown / Harvard Invitational with 12 total points on nine goals and three assists to become the first player in program history to eclipse 500 career points.
 
Black started the tournament with two goals and an assist against #19 Harvard. He followed that performance with nine points on a team-best seven goals and a pair of helpers in a win against LIU. The San Diego native closed out the weekend with seven points on six goals and an assist in a win at Brown.
 
Up next, the Midshipmen return home for the first time since Sept. 6, as the Mids host a pair of Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference games. Navy will take on George Washington (Friday, 7:30 p.m.), before concluding the weekend against Fordham (Sunday, 10:00 a.m.). Both games will be played in Lejeune Hall and streamed on the Navy Athletics YouTube Channel.
