Molly Bellia going 2-1 in doubles action, the Navy women's tennis team wrapped up its stay Sunday at the sixth annual San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic at the University of San Diego's Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Complex.
With Pal and Bellia leading the way with their doubles performance against the host Toreros, Fresno State and Loyola Marymount, the duo and senior
Olivia Fermo combined to sweep their singles matches on Sunday to end the Midshipmen's trip on a high note.
Navy opened the event with Fermo and fellow senior
Julia Lee posting a 6-1 win over Loyola LMU's Ilana Toro and Melis Mert, while USD's Ines Leon and Akira Roy downed Pal and Bellia, 6-4. Turning to Friday's singles slate, Ines defeated Pal in a 6-2, 6-1 decision, Roy outlasted Bellia for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win, Toro was able to beat Fermo, 7-5, 6-2, and Mert got past Lee in a 6-2, 6-1 final.
Bellia and Pal bounced back on Saturday morning, starting the day with a 6-4 victory on the doubles court against LMU's Sofia Perovani and Camilia Samel-Druz, but Fermo and Lee were knocked off in a close battle against the Lions' Helene Schnack and Anastasia Bozova, 7-6 (3). Singles against LMU then saw Bozova register a 6-1, 6-2 win against Bellia, Schnack edge Fermo, 6-0, 6-2, and Perovani score a 6-2, 7-6 (2) victory over Pal.
Navy swept through its Sunday schedule, beginning with Pal and Bellia scoring a 6-4 victory against the Fresno State pairing of Andi Anderson and Nina Wiese. Bellia then kicked off singles play with the Bulldogs by securing a 6-2, 6-1 win over Francesca Terzi. Fermo continued the run by defeating Anna Noguero, 6-2, 6-2, and Pal completed the sweep by posting a 7-5, 6-2 victory against Wiese.

Navy will return to action on Oct. 23-25 at the ITA Conference Masters' Patriot League Qualifier in West Point, N.Y.
