ANNAPOLIS, MD. // Rifle standouts
Isabella Baldwin and
Tyler Wee, along with men's golfer
Elijah Estonilo, have been named this week's Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) Athletes of the Week, presented by USAA.
Over the weekend, Baldwin and Wee each fired a perfect 600 in air rifle for the second consecutive year, while Estonilo won both his four-ball and singles matches to help lead Navy to a 6.5-4.5 victory over Army in the annual men's golf Star Match.
Last season at The Citadel, Baldwin and Wee became, it is believed, the first set of teammates in NCAA history to fire a perfect 600 in air rifle in the same match. The duo matched that feat in just the third competition of the 2026-27 season.
On Sunday, Baldwin and Wee tied the program record with a 595 in smallbore before each recording a perfect 600 in air rifle. Their combined score of 1,195 established a new Navy program record for aggregate scoring.
The performances helped the No. 8 Navy rifle team sweep its weekend competitions in Ohio. The Midshipmen opened the weekend with a 4,732-4,674 victory at No. 15 Akron before posting a score of 4,743 to defeat No. 3 TCU (4,724) and host No. 14 Ohio State (4,684).
Estonilo made his presence known in his Army-Navy Star Match debut. The freshman teamed with fellow newcomer
Payton Cowhey to defeat Andre Chang and Ryan Lopez, 3&1, for Navy's lone outright victory in four-ball action Saturday.
A day later, Estonilo defeated Lopez, 2&1, in singles play to help the Midshipmen rally for the 6.5-4.5 victory. He was the only Navy player to win both his four-ball and singles matches during the weekend.
The victory marked Navy's second consecutive Star Match win and its first victory at West Point since 2016.
