ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team registered a sweep of Hampton and Villanova Saturday at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis.  The Mids (10-6) defeated the Pirates (0-2) and the Wildcats (2-3) by the identical score of 6-1.

Navy won all three doubles matches in its victory over Hampton.  The Mids then won a trio of straight-set single matches to record the victory.  Five players won in both singles and doubles during the match.

Ethan Garcia and Herrick Legaspi combined for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, then Legaspi posted a 7-6, 2-6, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.  Steve Nguyen and Charlie Spencer tallied a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.  Nguyen then won, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 4 singles and Spencer recorded a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.  Navy's No. 3 team of J.J. Etterbeek teamed with Zachary Quattro won its match by the score of 6-1.  Etterbeek won a 6-0, 6-2 match at No. 3 singles and Quattro won his No. 6 match by the score of 6-2, 6-0.

Jason Kim, Aniketh Ayinala and Jake Young swept their respective matches against Villanova.  Ayinala and Young formed Navy's No. 2 doubles team that won a 6-3 decision.  Ayinala then won, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 2 singles and Young won his No. 1 singles match by the score of 6-4, 6-4.  Kim and teammate Lachlan Buckingham played at No. 1 doubles and gave up just one game in winning the match. Kim went on to win his No. 6 singles match by the score of 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Navy will play host to Drexel and at William & Mary Friday.
