ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Helping the Midshipmen pick up two spring-break victories and extend their winning streak to eight matches, Navy sophomore Grace Li was named the Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
 
Li had a perfect spring-break week for Navy, going 3-0 individually while helping the Mids push their winning streak to eight-straight matches. The sophomore pulled out a pair of straight-set wins at the No. 3 singles spot while also partnering with Julia Lee for a No. 2 doubles victory.
 
Li started the week with a 6-4, 6-2 singles win against Fairfield's Anna Neyestani, aiding the Mids in a 6-1 victory over the Stags. The sophomore then paired with Julia Lee for a 6-2 doubles victory over UNC Asheville's Valeria Centeno and Isabella Moss, before beating the Bulldogs' Avery Sager, 6-2, 6-2, to lead Navy to a 4-3 win.
 
Li has now won six-straight singles matches, while she and Lee have a 3-0 record over their last five doubles matches together.
 
The award marks Li's first weekly league honor of her career and the Mids' fourth weekly accolade of the season after freshman Nicole Fu claimed the award on Jan. 27, sophomore Peyton Amspacher-Philemon notched the honor on Feb. 10 and junior Olivia Fermo nabbed the distinction on Feb. 17.
 
Navy will begin its Patriot League slate on Saturday when it welcomes Lehigh, before playing host to Bucknell on Sunday.
