ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Lehigh (7-7, 1-0) won the last two matches left on the courts to rally for a 4-3 victory over the Navy men's tennis team, Saturday at the Ulrich Tennis Center in Bethlehem, Pa. The Mids (17-17, 1-1) also lost a 4-0 decision to No. 75 Kennesaw State (14-4) at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis.

The Mountain Hawks began the day with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to take the 1-0 lead. Lehigh's No. 1 team of Sean Jaeger and Alex Van Lumich posted a 6-2 win over
Herrick Legaspi and
Charlie Spencer in the first match to finish. Navy evened the results when its No. 3 team of
George Cutone and
J.J. Etterbeek defeated Rafael Gracie and Kosei Ogata by that same score.
The point would be determined when the Lehigh No. 2 tandem of Wyeth Anzilotti and Henry Stoller won a 6-4 decision over
Aniketh Ayinala and
Jason Kim.
Navy took a 2-1 lead thanks to wins by Spencer and Etterbeek in singles. Spencer won a 6-1, 6-1 match over Ogata at the No. 3 flight and Etterbeek followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Ben Horn-Bourque at No. 4 singles.
Lehigh tied the score at 2-2 when Jaeger posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Ayinala at No. 2 singles, but the lead turned back in favor of the Mids when Lehigh's Van Lumich retired from his match at No. 1 singles against Legaspi while trailing 2-6, 7-5, 4-0.
The indoor facility used today has just four available courts, which meant the Nos. 5 and 6 matches didn't start until there were open courts following the conclusion of matches. With those matches starting later than the others, Stoller would tie the match at 3-3 on his 6-2, 6-3 victory over Kim at the No. 6 flight, then Alex Daskalovic won the match for the Mountain Hawks with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Cutone at No. 5 singles.

The Owls, who are in their third week of the season with a national ranking, won the three doubles matches to take the available point. The closest match of the three was at the No. 3 flight where Xavi Ferrer and Ben Hudson defeated
Steve Nguyen and Zachary Quattro by the score of 6-3.
Kennesaw State then won a trio of straight set singles matches to earn the victory in the first match played between the teams. The Owls won matches at the Nos. 4 (6-2,6-2), 5 (6-3, 6-4) and 6 (6-1, 6-2) flights.
Navy players held the lead in two of the remaining three matches that were stopped when the fourth team point was recorded.
Tommy Kim led Hudson, 6-4, 4-5, at the No. 1 flight and Nguyen was in front of Anthony Weingarten, 6-1, 2-3, at No. 3.
