Navy-Jacksonville Series
• Tuesday's contest will be just the 4th meeting between the two programs with Jacksonville leading 2-1.
• The inaugural meeting saw the Dolphins score a 13-7 win over the Midshipmen on Feb. 19, 2012, in the Moe's Southwest Grill Classic played at EverBank Field, home to the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. The Dolphins outscored the Mids 6-1 in the 2nd quarter to take an 8-2 lead at the half and never looked back
• Jacksonville dealt Navy a 12-7 loss in the 2018 season opener. Jacksonville held just a one-goal advantage after the opening quarter, but again used a strong 2nd quarter to make its move against the Mids, outscoring them 5-0 and putting the game out of reach. Navy was without its starting faceoff specialist and was forced to rely upon then freshman long-stick midfielder Jeff Durden and short-stick defensive middie Brad Alexander.
• Navy used a 9-0 run to overcome a 4-1 opening-quarter deficit en route to capturing a 13-6 victory over Jacksonville on Feb. 28, 2021. It's the only time the two teams have played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to date. The Mids held the Dolphins off the scoreboard for nearly 25 minutes (24:19, 6:49 2Q - 12:30 3Q), while 8 different players accounted for Navy's 9-goal run in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
• Just hours after defeating Jacksonville in 2021, the Naval Academy endured a 21-day Restriction of Movement (ROM), more commonly known as quarantine to the civilian world, due to an uptick in COVID-19 cases within the Brigade of Midshipmen. During those 21 days, midshipmen were allowed 2 hours of outdoor physical activity with 1 roommate, while classes were held virtually and meals were consumed within their respective dorm rooms. ROM was lifted on March 22, when athletes were allowed to return to practice and resume competition. The 28-day gap between games (Jacksonville on Feb. 28 and Bucknell on March 28) remains the longest in school history with the closest being a 23-day wait between the Mids' 1986 regular-season finale against top-ranked Johns Hopkins on April 26 and its NCAA Quarterfinals contest against Virginia on May 19.
• The winning team in all 3 contests reached double-figure goals, while the losing team was held to single digits.
