ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's rugby team (10-2 in 7s / 4-5 in 15s) looks to stay hot in 7s play on Sunday when it travels to Frostburg, Md., for the Frostburg 7s Tournament. The final regular-season event of the spring is scheduled to begin at 11:40 a.m.
 
There will be no live streaming or statistics available for the tournament.
 
Participating Teams
The tournament features six teams representing five schools: Adrian, Frostburg State, Mount St. Mary's, Navy and West Chester (Gold and Purple teams).
 
Navy's Schedule

• 11:40 a.m. – Navy vs. West Chester Gold
• 1 p.m. – Navy vs. Mount St. Mary's
• 1:40 p.m. – Navy vs. Adrian

 
Navy Notes

• The Midshipmen have won seven of their last eight games, with the lone loss coming against Army (17-12) in overtime of the Quinnipiac 7s championship game. The narrow defeat snapped a nine-game winning streak by the Mids.
• Navy is one win away from tying the program's single-season 7s wins record (11), which was set last year.
• The Mids' offense features five players who have scored at least five tries, led by Catherine O'Hara's 13 tries and 65 total points.
• Cecilia Izquierdo ranks second on the team with 11 tries.
• Mia Young has made 24 of the team's 35 conversion kicks this spring. She has also run in three tries and her 63 total points rank second on the squad.
• Navy's kicking has been highly effective, already surpassing last season's total of 28 conversions.
• The Mids' defense has also been stellar, with six of their 10 victories resulting in shutouts. Navy has allowed fewer than 20 points in nine of its games this spring.

 
Scouting West Chester

• West Chester holds a 7-7-1 record in 7s play through three tournaments this spring.
• The Golden Rams went 3-3-1 in their home tournament on March 29, defeating Frostburg State (19-12) and Princeton twice (15-5 in both matchups).

 
Navy vs. West Chester

• Navy leads the all-time 7s series, 7-4, including a commanding 40-7 victory at the West Chester 7s Tournament earlier this spring.

 
Scouting Mount St. Mary's

• Mount St. Mary's will compete in its fourth 7s event this spring. In their most recent outing at the West Chester 7s Tournament, the Mountaineers went 3-1 defeating La Salle (24-19), Penn State (26-21), and Frostburg State (34-7).

 
Navy vs. Mount St. Mary's

• Navy boasts a 10-2-1 series lead in 7s competition and is currently riding a six-game winning streak against Mount St. Mary's. Sunday marks the second meeting between the programs this spring as the Midshipmen dominated the previous matchup at the West Chester 7s Tournament, 36-7.

 
Scouting Adrian

• The Bulldogs enter their fifth tournament of the 7s season with a 7-9 record.
• Adrian finished 1-4 at the Wolverine 7s Tournament in its last outing on April 4, with its lone win coming against Indiana, 21-15.

 
Navy vs. Adrian

• Sunday will mark the first meeting between the two programs in either 15s or 7s competition.
