ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Navy lacrosse's
Zach Hayashi (Jr / FO / North Potomac, Md.) was named this week's Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week following his performance in the Mids' season finale against Loyola last Friday.
A six-time recipient of the weekly award over his three seasons, Hayashi won 11 of the 13 draws (84.6) he took against the Greyhounds, matching his most wins of the 2026 campaign. Meanwhile, his 84.6 winning percentage was his best since the Mids' opener against Iona on Feb. 6, when he won 9 of his 10 draws (90.0). Additionally, Hayashi picked up a team-high tying 5 ground balls in the contest.

Colin Shadowens (Sr / Severna Park, N.Y.) split the faceoff duties this season for the Mids with Hayashi finishing the year 107 for 195 (54.9), while Shadowens was 109 for 196 (55.6). Hayashi also paced the team in ground balls with 60.
Hayashi will head into his senior campaign ranked #2 on Navy's all-time faceoff wins list with 384, while he stands #5 in career ground balls with 194.
