ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A pair of surging teams will meet on with a star on the line this weekend, as the Navy women's tennis team (16-5, 2-1 PL) will host rival Army (20-4, 5-0 PL) at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the 2026 Star Match at the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium.
 
Part of the 2025-26 Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA, Navy and Army both enter Saturday on hot streaks with the Black Knights riding a six-match winning streak and the Midshipmen winning 12 of their last 14 contests. The rivals also are among the top squads in the Patriot League, as Army leads the Patriot League standings with a 5-0 league mark while Navy is tied for third with a 2-1 league record, with both teams having two league matches remaining after Saturday's tilt.
 
Army-Navy Star Series Update
Despite Army winning the baseball star last weekend, Navy has clinched the all-sport 2025-26 Star Series presented by USAA with a 13-6-1 lead … After Army took a 4-2-1 lead early in the fall, Navy ripped off nine-straight Star victories before the Black Knights took the wrestling star a day before the Navy basketball sweep … A trio of close games saw Army take the opener and finale of the three-game baseball star series … The remaining stars up for grabs are men's and women's outdoor track & field, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and men's tennis … Navy's overall record against Army this season is 16-8-1.
 
Series History
Army leads the all-time series by a 14-9 margin … The two teams are tied, 6-6, over the first 12 installments of the Star Match, with the inaugural regular season meeting between the programs coming in 2013 … Before Army's Star win last season, Navy had claimed the previous three Star Matches … A 4-1 home win in 2022 was followed by 2023's down-to-the-wire 4-3 victory at West Point, while 2024's star meeting saw Kate Lee's singles victory finish off the Mids' 4-2 comeback win in the first of two wins over the Black Knights in 2024 … Last spring had Army post a 4-1 home win despite Emily Tannenbaum tallying a victory at No. 1 singles for the Mids.

Leading the team with a 25-6 singles record is freshman Nicole Fu, while sophomore Emma Gu ranks second on the team with a 21-11 singles record and junior Olivia Fermo holds a 20-7 singles mark … Fu and sophomore Grace Li each have a team-high 12-4 singles record this spring … Fermo and Fu have partnered to post a team-leading 15-11 doubles record … Junior Anna Jordaan and sophomore Peyton Amspacher-Philemon have notched a 10-3 doubles mark together, including a 7-1 record as the No. 2 pairing … Overall, Amspacher-Philemon has a team-best 17 doubles wins.
 
Streaks A'Plenty
Before being snapped last Saturday at Boston U., Navy's 11-match winning streak from Feb. 15 to March 25 marked the fourth longest in program history and the best run since another 11-match win streak from Feb. 8 to March 8, 2020 … While also snapped in Boston, sophomore Peyton Amspacher-Philemon's 13-match singles winning streak tied her for the second-longest singles win streak in program history and becoming the fourth Navy player all-time to post a 13-match singles win streak … Fellow sophomore Grace Li has a career-best 10-match singles win streak after wins against Delaware and BU, marking the second time this season she has won at least eight-straight singles contests.

Navy has tallied an 14-1 home record this spring, including winning its last 10 home matches … Navy has had 30 different doubles pairings this season … Nicole Fu is 11-0 at home this spring in singles play, while Peyton Amspacher-Philemon is also undefeated at home with a 9-0 singles mark … Amspacher-Philemon and Anna Jordaan are 8-1 in home doubles action this spring.
 
Last Time Out
In its lone Patriot League road match of the season, Navy had its 11-match winning streak snapped last Saturday when it fell to Boston University, 4-3, at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Club … The Terriers clinched the overall victory by securing the doubles point and quickly winning three singles flights to build a clinching 4-0 edge before the Mids rallied to take the final three matches on the court, with Grace Li, Jina Cha and Nicole Fu all taking their matches via 10-game pro sets.

Winners in eight of their last nine, the Black Knights enter Saturday on a six-match win streak that includes three-straight Patriot League victories … After starting league play with wins over Bucknell and Colgate and losing a 4-1 decision against Delaware, Army rattled off victories Hofstra, Fordham and New Haven before returning to league action by beating Loyola on March 15 and then pulling out the March 21 doubleheader sweep of Lafayette and Holy Cross … Army has had a pair of Patriot League Players of the Week this spring, with Madison Smith winning the award on March 10 and Emma Sy claiming it on Feb. 3 … The fall slate saw Isabella Brilliant and Smith win the Patriot League ITA Masters Qualifier Doubles Championship, eventually falling in the ITA Conference Masters' round-of-16 to Virginia's top-seeded pairing of Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang … Falling to Boston in last year's PL championship match, the Black Knights bring back a pair of 2025 all-league selections in Second-Teamers Vennmukiil Mathivanan and Sy.
