21 Varsity Athletes Earn Graduate with Distinction Honors

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Included among the United States Naval Academy's Class of 2026 were 21 varsity sport athletes who earned Graduate with Distinction honors. 
 
Those who garner Graduate with Distinction laurels finish in the top-10 percent of the graduating class in Overall Order of Merit, which includes academics, military performance, conduct and physical education standing.  There were 108 members of the Class of 2026 who earned the accolade.  Sixteen varsity teams had at least one student-athlete among the honorees.
 
Thomas Kelly from the lightweight rowing team (second) and women's swimmer Viviana Vergara-Anglim (third) were two of the four varsity athletes to rank among the top-10 graduates.  This list also includes Chloe Cowan from the offshore sailing team (fifth) and women's basketball player Maren Louridas (ninth).
