ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A mainstay in the Midshipmen's lineup the past three years, rising senior
Nate Stewart has been selected as team captain for the 2026 Navy men's soccer season, head coach John Hackworth announced Friday.
Stewart will lead a squad that brings back 23 players from last season.
Starting Navy's first 13 games in 2025 before missing the final five matches due to injury, Stewart logged 1,081 minutes in the midfield and scored the game-winning goal in the Mids' 2-1 win over service academy rival Air Force. Stewart has appeared in 45 contests for his career with 29 starts, tallying five points across 2,789 minutes.
A history major, Stewart holds a 3.41 GPA and picked up 2024 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades.
Stewart and the Mids open the 2026 season on Aug. 20 at UC San Diego.
