ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's basketball program under the direction of seventh-year head coach
Tim Taylor is pleased to introduce a talented group of three freshmen, who will be joining the team for this upcoming 2026-27 season. The Class of 2030 consists of three recruited student-athletes from throughout the country. Over the next week, each recruit will be profiled with today's spotlight shining on Kaitlyn Raagas from San Diego, California.
Raagas is coming across the country and promises to add athleticism and excitement to Navy's backcourt. A four-year member of the girls' basketball program at the Francis Parker School under the guidance of head coach Courtney Clements, Raagas made an immediate impact as she was the team's MVP and Freshman of the Year, while earning First Team All-Coastal League honors. She continued building on that fast start and repeated her all-conference accolades as a sophomore. Raagas' individual success carried over to the Lancers' team success as they captured the program's first-ever CIF San Diego County Division 2 Championship in 2024.
As she moved into the second half of her time on the hardwood at Francis Parker, she helped the team secure the 2025 and later the 2026 Coastal Conference Championship. Raagas' career culminated by being selected as the 2026 Coastal Conference Mission Fed Student-Athlete of the Year, to the All-Coastal League First Team for a third time and to the CIF San Diego County Second Team. In addition to the Lancers' Coastal Conference championship, Raagas helped her squad capture the program's first CIF San Diego County Open Division Championship in 2026.
She honed her skills in the offseason as a member of the 7Days Basketball Club under the tutelage of head coach Aundre Cummings. During her junior season with the program, Raagas led her team to the Adidas 17U 3SSB Circuit Championship. With 7Days, she played with six teammates, who have been recruited or will be playing at the Division I level, including Kaleena Smith, ESPN's Number No. 1 ranked recruit in the 2031 class.
Away from the basketball court, she earned varsity letters with Francis Parker's flag football team as a quarterback/defensive back and with the track & field program. Raagas' offensive efforts on the football field resulted in a spot on the All-Coastal League First Team.
The daughter of Rene and Kirstie, she was involved with the California Scholarship Federation, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Asian-Pacific Islander-Desi-American Club at Francis Parker.
"Kaitlyn is a dynamic guard who impacts the game in a variety of ways," remarked Taylor. "I was extremely impressed by her ability to defend the top players on the Adidas Travel Circuit while helping her team, 7Days, capture the Adidas National Championship. Her athleticism, relentless effort on both ends of the floor, and understanding of what her team needs to do to win consistently stood out throughout the recruiting process. We are incredibly excited to welcome Kaitlyn to our program and look forward to the impact she will make both on and off the court."
