ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Coming off a resilient draw on Sunday, Navy men's soccer sophomore Nick Gallucci has been named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Tallying the primary assist on both Midshipmen goals in the 2-2 draw at San Diego State, Gallucci started each of Navy's first two games of the season.
 
After logging 61 minutes of action in the season opener Thursday at UC San Diego, the Hoboken, N.J., native then went the full 90 minutes in 95-degree heat on Sunday afternoon while setting up both Navy tallies.
 
Gallucci helped pull the Mids even at 48' when classmate Will Cawlfield left a pass for him and he sent a cross into the box for the rookie Jack Illig to head home for Navy's first goal of 2026. Gallucci then got his second helper at 79' after captain Nate Stewart took an Aztec giveaway and passed it up to him, as Gallucci put the ball into the left attacking corner for freshman Cohen Nance to pick up and beat a defender near the corner flag before kicking it past the SDSU goalkeeper for the tying score.
 
Sunday marked Gallucci's first multi-assist performance at the collegiate level, as Gallucci has now tallied three goals and three assists for nine points in his 16 career games for the Mids.
 
Navy opens its home schedule on Friday night, taking on George Washington at 7:05 p.m.
