ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior wide receiver Luke Hutchison was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, it was announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity—specifically, the persistence and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, nominees must meet one or more of the following criteria: They must have played football at and graduated from a Texas high school and/or currently play at a four-year college in Texas.

The Watch List will be narrowed to 16 semifinalists in November and five finalists in December. The semifinalists and finalists will be selected by broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans and previous winners.

The winner will be announced in December and celebrated at the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet scheduled for Jan. 27, 2027, in Tyler, Texas.

This year's Watch List includes:
  • 107 players from nine conferences and two independent programs (American, ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Conference USA, Mountain West, Pac-12, SEC and Sun Belt).
  • Players representing 72 universities in 34 states.
  • A player does not have to appear on the initial Watch List to be eligible to win the award.

Hutchison started six games last year for the Mids, missing four games due to a broken collarbone.

He was a touchdown machine for the Mids last year, scoring four times on just six touches—three receiving and one rushing.

In his career, Hutchison is averaging 18.0 yards per catch with nine receptions for 162 yards.
