Biography

• 2020-21 team captain
• Enters his senior campaign with a 55-24 record, just three wins outside of Navy’s all-time top 25 (58-29 // Tucker George // 2004-08)
• Needs five wins to become just the 24th player in program history to reach 60 career victories


2019-20 // Junior Year
• Closed out the year with a team-best 17-9 record, playing every match at the #1 position
• Named to the 10-player All-Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Team
• Was 10-7 during the regular season, 2-1 at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship, 3-0 at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championship and 2-1 at the CSA Individual Championship
• Opened the year by pairing up with Michael Kacergis to defeat Franklin & Marshall’s Sanjay Jeeva and Shamseldeen Abbas to win the 2019 Intercollegiate Squash Doubles National Championship ... it marked Lentz’s first doubles national title
• Captured a 3-0 victory over teammate Michael Kacergis to win the Barb Tournament for a second-consecutive year ... he is one of 15 players who have won the tournament multiple times since it was established in 1957
• Scored a 3-1 victory over #14 Franklin & Marshall’s Aryan Parekh, the highest-ranked team he earned a win against
• Also captured a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Maximo Moyer from #16 Brown
• Turned in a 2-1 record in Navy’s inaugural appearance at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship where he dropped his opener against George Washington, but rallied to defeat Abdelrahman Elsargany of Dickinson (3-1) and MIT’s Aman Sanger (3-0)
• Was sensational at the CSA Team Championship where he went undefeated, defeating Deven Kanwal of Bowdoin (3-1), Nick Bermingham of Middlebury (3-1) and Graham Bonnell of Bates (3-0)
• Produced a 2-1 record in the Molloy East division of the CSA Individual Championship, where he swept Hobart’s Quinn Udy before knocking off Penn’s Saksham Choudhary in four games ... Choudhary was a perfect 17-0 coming into his match against Lentz before suffering a 10-12, 11-4, 11-7, 11-9 loss ... Lentz bowed out of the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Harvard’s George Crowne in the semis

2018-19 // Sophomore Year
• Opened the year by defeating teammate Owen Davis in three games to win the Barb Tournament
• Turned in a team-best 16-6 record, playing all 19 of his regular-season matches at the #1 position (14-5)
• Won the first 10 matches of the season, including five-game matches against Western Ontario’s David Mill to clinch the team victory
• His four-gamer against William Cembalest of Middlebury also clinched the team win for the Mids
• Dropped his first match of the year against Dartmouth’s Carson Spahr in a four-game decision
• Posted a 2-1 record at the CSA Team Championship, earning 3-1 wins over Drexel’s Bransten Ming and Franklin & Marshall’s Shamseldeen Abbas
• Represented Navy at the CSA Individual Championship where he posted a 2-1 mark
• Opened the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Hamilton College’s Callumn Sondhi and followed up with a 3-1 victory against Brown’s Grant Sterman
• Bowed out of the tournament following a 3-0 loss to Yale’s Harrison Gil.

2017-18 // Freshman Year
• A finalist in the Barb Tournament, he played primarily the #2 position for the Mids as a rookie
• Closed out the year with a 22-9 record which tied Senen Ubina for the most wins on the team
• Won the first 11 matches of his career, including capturing an 11-8, 11-4, 11-3 victory over Northwestern’s Joseph Kim in his first collegiate match
• Also picked up a 3-2 win over Western Ontario’s A. Rajagopaul, earning one of just two victories by the Mids
• Fell for the first time in his career in a five-game match against Penn’s Hayes Murphy
• Earned a 3-1 win over #10 Dartmouth’s Carson Spahr
• Earned a 3-2 win against Dickinson’s Hal Holappa to lead the Mids to a 6-3 victory
• Earned a thrilling five-game, come-from-behind victory over Yale’s Max Martin in the regular season
• Defeated for a second time (3-1) at the CSA Team Championship
• Posted a 2-2 record at the CSA Individual Championship, picking up wins over Bates’ Ahirudh Nambiar in three games and Virginia’s William Braff in three games

High School
• 2017 graduate of Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, Pa.
• Two-sport athlete who earned letters in squash and track & field
• Earned squash All-America honors as a senior and was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team
• Two-time all-league squash honoree who also received scholar-athlete recognition
• Served as captain of the squash team his senior year
• Two-time all-league track performer who placed third in the 300-meter hurdles at the PAISAA Championship his senior year
