• Smith in 2018-19 (Jr.): Competed at the Bearcat Open, Navy Classic and Edinboro Open.
• 2017-18 (So.): Sat out the season with an injury.
• 2016-17 (Fr.): Competed in three tournaments where he produced a combined 2-4 record ... earned his first collegiate victory by way of forfeit at the East Stroudsburg Open, while on the mat his first win was a pin against Maryland’s Nick McShea at the Franklin & Marshall Open ... took sixth in the Greco Roman 120 kilogram weight class at the 2017 United World Wrestling Junior Nationals.

• Personal: Son of Michael Sr. and Jennifer Smith, father was a four-year starter at nose guard for the Wake Forest football team (1987-90) and was the 1990 recipient of the Bill Award given annually to Wake Forest’s standout lineman in honor of the school’s first All-American ... brother, Chris, is a freshman at the Naval Academy and is a member of the lacrosse team ... cousin, Reggie Smith Jr., was an National Collegiate Boxing Association champ at Army ... voted by his peers to serve as the Naval Academy’s President of the Class of 2020 ... majoring in Political Science.
