Biography
As a junior, Kiggans competed aboard the Wahoo in the NASS Lighthouse Race, Seguin Island Race, Martha's Vineyard Raceweek, Around Martha's Vineyard Race and Around Long Island Race. During the fall season, he raced in various local regattas, Oxford and Hammond Regattas, and AYC Fall Series, as well as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Championships, and J/105 North Americans. During the summer following his sophomore campaign, Kiggans raced in multiple local regattas (AYC Wednesday Night Races) as a helmsman on a Farr 40, then raced on J/133 and Farr 40s throughout the fall in various regattas. As a freshman, he raced in the Navy fall Colgate 26 race series as a plebe skipper, then competed in the Navy Keelboat Fall Regatta. Prior to Navy, Kiggans began racing lasers in middle school, started a sailing team at his high school, raced in multiple regattas up and down east coast, competed in Classic Moth Nationals.
