SENIOR (2021-22): Amdahl finished as one of the top-contributing shooters for the Midshipmen in 2021-22, helping lead Navy to an NCAA Championship appearance, the 29th such appearance in program history … Amdahl posted the second-best scoring average on the team in air rifle (594.3), along with being third in aggregate (1,167) and fourth in smallbore (574.6) … Amdahl posted a career-best air rifle mark of 599 points, just one-point shy of a perfect score, against Kentucky … The senior added a season-high marks of 582 points in smallbore and 1,173 at the annual President’s Trophy match … With the assistance of Amdahl, the Mids produced new program records for scoring in each of the three disciplines, including 4,719 points in aggregate, 2,382 in air rifle and 2,346 in smallbore … The senior also posted four scores of 595 or better in air rifle, along with scoring 1,170 points or more in aggregate three times … For his efforts in helping lead the Mids to the aforementioned NCAA Championship appearance, Amdahl was named an All-GARC honorable mention for the air rifle discipline, the second All-GARC honor of his career
JUNIOR (2020-21): Amdahl finished the season with a team-best 592.1 in air rifle during the season, which set a new program record, and he was second in smallbore (575.3) and aggregate (1167.4) … In his appearances, he posted a season-high in air rifle and aggregate scoring on Nov. 21 against Kentucky where he posted scores of 595 and 1,175, respectively … His season-best smallbore score came in his final appearance of the season against Ole Miss and West Virginia with a 581 on Jan. 30 … All-GARC Honorable Mention
SOPHOMORE (2019-20): Amdahl took part in all 14 matches for the Midshipmen as a sophomore and compiled an aggregate average of 1,164.1 … He also compiled a smallbore average of 575.5 for the season and a 588.6 average in air rifle … Amdahl had a career day in the NCAA Qualifier Match against John Jay on Feb. 22 with a 1,183 points in total scoring to rank second in program history … Against John Jay, he finished with career marks in smallbore (587) and air rifle (596) … His 596 in air rifle is second in program history and was just one point shy of the program record … Amdahl was also slated to compete on Navy’s NCAA Championship squad.
FRESHMAN (2018-19): During his freshman campaign, he averaged 586.8 in air rifle where he started in 12 of Navy’s 13 competitions … He started his collegiate campaign with back-to-back 591s in air rifle, which is currently his career high, in a pair tri-matches against TCU and VMI and then against Akron and North Carolina State … Fired his best smallbore score of the season at Memphis with a 578 en route to a career-best aggregate score of 1,167 points … Averaged 569.8 in smallbore and 1,156.5 in aggregate scoring
PRIOR TO NAVY: Competed on the Eldorado MCJROTC rifle squad … Won the JROTC National Precision Air Rifle Championship in 2016 and then captured the JROTC National Team Precision Rifle Championship in 2017 … Captured the Winter Air Gun Day 2 Junior Championship in 2016 … Also attended the New Mexico Military Institute.
PERSONAL: Son of David and Jennifer … Father, David, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and is a retired Air Force major … Named to the Naval Academy's Commandant's List three times and Dean's List once.
