Biography
2022 NAAA Sword for Men Award Recipient
As a junior: JC excelled this season and was named All-American as well as the 2021 ICSA College Sailor of the Year. He finished 1st place in 7 regattas, including Team Race Nationals and both qualifiers, as well as 2nd in A division at Fleet Race Nationals.Â
As a sophomore: JC competed in 8 regattas and finished on the podium at 7 of them. Some highlights include 3rd at the War Memorial Regatta, 2nd at St. Mary’s Team Race Inter-Conference regatta and 1st at the Truxtun Umsted Coed Showcase Qualifier in A division. JC was named All American for another year.
As a Freshman:Â JC competed in 19 regattas this season. Some on JC Most notable achievements include his first-place finishes at both the America Trophy and Gill College Sailing Coed National Championship (B division). JC won his Division at Coed Nationals by 33 points. In addition JC had nine podium finishes, and was named to the 2019 ICSA All American Team.
Prior to Navy:Â Grew up in Bellport, NY and graduated from Bellport Senior High School in 2018. JC has been sailing for 12 years, and recently won the Youth Sailing World Championship in the I420 class. Also played Lacrosse in high school.
