Naval Academy Athletics

2021-22 // Senior Year
• Competed at 174 pounds during his senior campaign.
• Made appearances in the Clarion Open, Bearcat Open, Navy Classic, Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite, and Franklin & Marshall Open, posting a record of 13-10.
• Went 4-1 at the Navy Classic to place 3rd/4th, and 5-1 at the Bearcat Open to place fifth. 
• Fell in both dual matches of senior season. 

2020-21 // Junior Year
• Navy wrestled a COVID-shortened season that did not include tournaments outside of the EIWA and NCAA Championships.
• Wrestled in five matches over the course of the season, making his only dual appearance in the opener against Pitt where he lost a 12-7 decision to 18th-ranked Gregg Harvey.
• Split his other four “extra matches” winning twice by fall against Nicholas Meglino of Pitt (6:25) and Anthony Rice of Cleveland State (2:32).

2019-20 // Sophomore Year
• Competed in four tournaments at 174 pounds - Patriot Open, Franklin & Marshall Open, Shorty Hitchcock Memorial, Edinboro Open - where he amassed a combined 6-7 record.
• Put together a 3-1 record en route to placing second at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial.

2018-19 // Freshman Year
• Made his lone tournament appearance at the Edinboro Open where he posted a 2-2 record at 184 pounds.
• Scored a 9-2 victory over Kent State’s Lane Hinkle in what marked his first collegiate win.

High School
• 2018 graduate of San Marcos High School in San Marcos, Calif.
• Two-year wrestling letter winner.
• Placed among the top 16 in the state his senior season.
• Won the SDS Div. I Championship as a senior ... served as team captain his junior and senior years.
• Named the San Marcos HS Student of the Year as a senior.

Personal
• Son of Kevin and Carmen Finney.
• His service assignment is Marine Corps Ground.
• Majoring in Cyber Operations.
• Has earned Commandant’s List (F2021, S2022) accolades.
