Naval Academy Athletics

Over the summer prior to his sophomore season, Suarez trimmed spinnaker our J133, Wasp, racing in Annapolis to Newport, NYYC Annual, and Block Island Race Week. During the year she sailed mostly on the J105s as helm, and sometime trimming jib and spin, racing in Annapolis Labor Day Regatta, NASS Race to Oxford, Annapolis Fall Series, Hospice Cup, and J105 North Americans. She also spent some time on the Navy 44s driving. As a freshman, she was a plebe skipper on the Colgate 26s and the JVOST team captain. Started sailing when she was eight years old at the Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland and then moved over to the Miles River Yacht Club. Suarez learned how to sail optis, 420s, and lasers and began racing optis locally. She then moved to Riverton Yacht Club in New Jersey where he raced at the local yacht clubs in mostly optis and 420s. She is a US Sailing Instructor 1  and has worked at Riverton Yacht Club and Cooper River Yacht Club.
