• Alford in 2017-18 (So.):  After winning the first six matches of the season, closed out the year with a 12-5 mark ... spelled an injured Jadaen Bernstein during the dual season where he amassed a 5-2 record ... among his dual victories was a win by fall (5:56) over Maryland’s Pat Gerish, along with a win by fall (4:19) over Levko Higgins of George Mason ... earned his first career tournament victory by posting a 3-0 mark at the Eastern Michigan Open ... also competed but did not place at the Navy Classic and Southern Scuffle

• 2016-17 (Fr.):  Produced an 8-8 record in his rookie season, including a 22-6 tech fall over Johns Hopkins’ Dane Morgan in his first collegiate match ... the win over Morgan was his lone dual appearance of the year ... participated in four tournaments, including the Harold Nichols Open where he posted a 3-2 mark ... took third in the Greco Roman 79 kilogram weight class at the 2017 United World Wrestling Junior Nationals ... placed sixth at 79 kilograms in the UWW Junior Freestyle competition.

• High School: A 2016 graduate of Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston, S.C., Alford was a three-sport athlete who earned letters in wrestling (4) and cross country (1), while also playing football ... a four-time high school wrestling All-American who also garnered All-State (S.C.) recognition three times ... was the 2016 South Carolina State Champion at 170 pounds ... was a NHSCA Junior National Runner up and Fargo All-American ... placed third at the NHSCA Senior Nationals ... served as wrestling team captain four years ... member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies.

• Personal: Son of Ahmed Sr. and Stephanie Alford ... father is a 1992 graduate of The Citadel where he played football ... brother, Gerald Johnson, is a 2014 graduate of The Citadel where he was a member of the wrestling team ... majoring in Chemistry.
