Biography

• Watson in 2014-15 (Jr.):  Registered a 14-7 record in the four tournaments in which he competed ... posted a 7-1 record en route to take third at the Shorty Hitchcock Open, including a 6-0 decision over teammate Ryan Harman in the place-winning bout.

• 2013-14 (So.):  Produced a 9-8 record among the four tournaments in which he saw action ... was 3-2 at the East Stroudsburg Open and the Navy Classic, was 2-2 at the Franklin & Marshall Open and 1-2 at the Shorty Hitchcock Open.

• 2012-13 (Fr.):  Put together a 3-4 record wrestling at the Nittany Lion Open and the Franklin & Marshall Open ... defeated Clarion’s Ryan Darch, 6-3, to earn his first collegiate victory.

• High School: A 2011 graduate of Forsyth Country Day School, Watson attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2011-12 academic year ... a six-year letterwinner in wrestling who was a four-time North Carolina State Champion and a two-time national prep All-american ... served as Student Body President and Vice President ... member of the National Honor Society.

• Personal: Son of Phil and Kathleen Watson ... brother, Johnny, is a 2014 graduate of the Naval Academy and was a member of the wrestling team ... uncle, Jeff Simpson, wrestled at Ohio State ... majoring in History.
