Andrew Moritz joined the Navy baseball staff as the director of operations in June 2025.

Moritz arrived in Annapolis after spending the 2025 season as an assistant coach at Division II Missouri Western, helping produce three All-MIAA selections during his lone year with the Griffons. He also previously spent time as an assistant coach at his alma-mater, Providence High School, in Charlotte, N.C.
 
Prior to Missouri Western, Moritz spent six years playing professional baseball, including parts of five seasons within the Atlanta Braves organization. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Braves, Moritz reached as high as Double-A Mississippi, where he was named Southern League Player of the Week on Sept. 11, 2022 and was selected as an MiLB Organizational All-Star for the 2022 season.
 
Collegiately, Moritz played three seasons at UNC-Greensboro for now-Florida State head coach Link Jarrett. With the Spartans, Moritz collected numerous national accolades, including an impressive 2018 campaign that saw him named an ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-American, a D1Baseball.com Second Team All-American and a Baseball America and Perfect Game/Rawlings Third Team All-American. Additionally, Moritz was a three-time All-Southern Conference selection, the 2018 Southern Conference Player of the Year, a 2017 NCAA Clemson Regional All-Tournament Team honoree and a 2016 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American.
 
In the classroom, the Charlotte, N.C. native was named a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American in 2017 and took home Second-Team Academic All-America distinction in 2018.
 
Moritz also spent the 2017 summer playing for the Cape Cod League’s Harwich Mariners alongside former Navy ace Noah Song.
 
A 2021 graduate of UNCG, Moritz earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration.
