Brendan McGowan joined the Navy baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the start of the 2022 season.
In his first two seasons with the Mids, McGowan has been part of a staff that has developed seven All-Patriot League selections, the 2022 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, a 2022 Freshman All-American and a 2023 Buster Posey Catcher of the Year semifinalist. McGowan was also helped guide Navy to back-to-back series wins at the Freedom Classic over Air Force, as well as a second-place finish in the Patriot League in 2023.
Graduating from Catholic University in 2011, McGowan was a two-year letterwinner on the mound for the Cardinals' baseball team and made 32 appearances across his two campaigns in the Red and Black from 2007-08.
Previously, McGowan served as the pitching coordinator and Vice President of Baseball Operation for the Rawlings A’s Prospects organization.
