    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Leister was named the volunteer assistant coach of the Navy baseball program in the fall of 2018. 
 
In his second season on staff, Leister helped Navy to a 14-1 record during the shortened 2020 campaign. The Midshipmen also had their second-longest single-season winning streak with 14-straight wins to end the regular season
 
Leister helped Navy lead the Patriot League in average (.275), RBIs (84), slugging percentage (.404), on-base percentage (.398) and fielding percentage (.989).

In his first season with the Midshipmen, he helped the Midshipmen post a record of 39-17 overall and they captured the 2019 Patriot League Regular Season title following a record of 18-7 in league play. In assisting the hitters, Leister helped coach four All-League performers, including the Patriot League Player of the Year in Christian Hodge.

He comes to Navy following a stint as the assistant baseball coach and pitching coach at The Bullis School in Potomac, Md., while also holding the same roles on the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox 16U team.
 
Prior to his time in Potomac, Md., Leister was the Head of Baseball Player Development at Koa Sports and was also the Head Coach with the organization in the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League.
 
During the spring and summer of 2017, he was the pitching coach and camp coordinator at Montgomery College helping the Raptors place second in the NJCAA Region XX Division III Baseball Tournament en route to finished the season at 25-25.
 
Leister spent time in Singapore working at The Hit Factory as a coach and social media manager. During his time abroad, he promoted and managed international club team trips an managed the day-to-day in-house operations.
 
Leister started his coaching career at Our Lady Good Counsel High school in Olney, Md., where he was the head junior varsity coach for the baseball program and was the pitching and infield coach on the varsity team for two seasons. 
 
Leister graduated from Shepherd University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies: Sport Marketing.
