Joe Pace

    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Pace was named the volunteer assistant coach of the Navy baseball program in the fall of 2021, he comes to Navy after a six-year playing career with the Michigan baseball program where he served as a team captain.
 
Pace saw time as a position player over his first three seasons as a Wolverine, recording a home run, two doubles and five RBI over 28 at-bats along with playing infield, outfield and catching before transitioning to being a relief pitcher prior to the 2019 season.
 
Over three seasons in the Michigan bullpen, Pace compiled a 4.34 ERA along with striking out 49 batters over 37.1 innings pitched. As a graduate student in 2021, Pace recorded 3-1 record over 18 appearances, striking out 31 batters over 23.1 innings.
 
Pace was also a was a participant in the 2019 College World Series in which Michigan competed for a national championship against Vanderbilt.
 
For his efforts, Pace earned the Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior along with being in good academic standing and having demonstrated good citizenship outside of a sports-competition setting.
