- Three-year letterwinner at Bayard Rustin High School for coach Brad Harkins
- Named to Rawlings All-Region team in 2013: Atlantic Region Honorable Mention
- Honored as a member of the 2013 All-Ches-Mont League First Team
- Served as team captain for both his baseball and track & field squads as a senior in 2013
- Also participated on the basketball and track & field teams at Bayard Rustin

Personal:
- Son of Virgil and Keisha
- Both his father and Uncle, Justin were collegiate athletes. Virgil participated in track & field at South Carolina State, while Justin played baseball at Salisbury and Delaware Tech
- Aspires to join the Marine Corps as a post-grad
- A pair of teammates at Bayard Rustin are playing/are committed to playing D1 Baseball: Kevin Jewitt '16 at Villanova and Jimmy Brennan '18 at Radford
