- Played first two years of varsity baseball at Park Vista High School before playing junior and senior seasons at Saint John Paul II Academy.
- Picked up all-district accolades as a junior and senior, earning team MVP honors as a junior.
- Helped team capture district championships in 2021 and 2022.
- Served as a team captain during sophomore, junior and senior years.
- Teammates at Park Vista included Coast Guard’s Ayden Gurevich and Los Angeles Angels 2023 first-round pick Nolan Schanuel.

- Has two siblings: Chad Jr. and Makayla.
- Uncle, Brian Gointa, played in the NHL for 16 seasons and was two-time Winter Olympian.
