• 2020: A member of the Mids’ kickoff squad, he made appearances in each of the last 7 contests ... turned in 3 tackles on the year ... chipped in a tackle at SMU ... made a solo tackle at East Carolina ... made his first-collegiate appearance in the Mids’ win over Temple where he made a special teams stop.

• High School / Personal: A 2019 graduate of Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Va., Cuevas-Gillas attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2019-20 academic year ... a two-sport athlete who earned letters in basketball (1) and football (3) ... two-time (2017, ‘18) First-Team All-Potomac District and All-Region 5C North football selection ... two-time (2017, ‘18) Second-Team All-State (Va.) honoree ... earned Honorable Mention All-Met recognition as a senior ... led the football team to the Virginia Class 5 Championship Game his senior year, dropping a 37-26 decision to Highland Springs ... attended Rock Ridge High School his freshman and sophomore years where he lettered in football (2016) ... received 18 FBS and FCS offers, including Army, Navy and Air Force ... son of Markus Gillis and Yezabeth Cuevas ... majoring in political science.
