Biography

• At Navy: Enters the fall as a starter at slot back after starting eight games their last year ... exceptional athlete with great speed ... a willing blocker ... one of Navy’s top pass catchers ... has earned two varsity letters.

• 2019: A starter in 8 of the 13 games in which he played ... closed out the year rushing for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns on 56 carries ... caught 7 passes for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns ... completed 3 of his 4 passes for 90 yards and a TD ... rushed for 34 yards, including a season-long 27-yarder, on 2 carries in the Mids’ win over Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl ... threw a career-long 41-yard pass to Chance Warren on fourth-and-three with 23 seconds left in the fourth quarter to set up the game-winning field goal ... carried the ball 8 times for 32 yards at Houston ... also returned a kick ... rushed for 31 yards on 8 carries, including a season-long 21-yard run, and caught a 33-yard pass in the win over SMU ... carried the ball twice for 14 yards and caught a 6-yard pass at Notre Dame ... rushed for 33 yards on 5 carries, while completing his second career pass for a 23-yard touchdown to OJ Davis against USF ... carried the ball 8 times for 21 yards and a TD at Tulsa ... also threw and completed his first collegiate pass, a 26-yarder to fullback Jamale Carothers in what was his first career reception ... caught a pair of passes for 54 yards, including a 32-yarder on Navy’s game-winning drive against Air Force ... also carried the ball 4 times for 7 yards ... carried the ball 5 times for 27 yards at Memphis ... garnered honorable mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week following his performance against East Carolina in the AAC opener ... had 3 receptions for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also carrying the ball twice for 11 yards against the Pirates ... his 29-yard touchdown reception was the first of his career ... it also marked his first reception of the season ... his 80-yard touchdown reception was the longest reception of his career ... he is the first Navy player to post 100 yards receiving since Taylor Jackson amassed 120 yards against Houston on Oct. 20, 2018 ... he is one of only two slot backs in program history to have 2 100-yard receiving games ... • 2018: Started in two of the 11 games in which he played ... finished the year with 183 yards rushing on 22 carries and scored a touchdown ... also caught nine passes for 187 yards ... caught a pair of passes for 24 yards at Tulane ... caught a 15-yard pass from Zach Abey and gained six yards on his lone carry against Tulsa ... carried the ball four times for 28 yards at UCF ... returned a pair of punts for eight yards (the first of his career), including a long of nine at Cincinnati ... carried the ball once for six yards and made a solo stop in the Notre Dame game ... sat out the Temple and Houston games with an injury ... carried the ball just once at Air Force for a 4-yard gain ... in his first collegiate start, he played a sensational game against SMU where he led the Mids win rushing with a then career-high 82 yards on six carries and scored on a 52-yard run, his first collegiate touchdown ... came into the SMU game with nine carries and 57 yards total ... also returned two kickoffs for 35 yards, including a career-long of 21 yards ... part of an offense that racked up 629 yards of total offense (484 rushing, 145 receiving) in the win over Lehigh, which stands as the 10th most in program history and the most since Navy amassed 680 yards against North Texas on Nov. 10, 2007 ... the Mids also rushed for 484 yards against the Mountain Hawks, the 15th-best mark in school history ... played a sensational game against Lehigh where he carried the ball six times for a career-best 41 yards ... also caught three passes for a career-high 104 yards, including a career-long 49-yard reception from Malcolm Perry ... returned one kickoff for a career-long 15 yards ... carried the ball twice for eight yards against Memphis, caught one pass for 16 yards and returned his first career kickoff for seven yards ... made his collegiate debut in the Mids’ opener against Hawai’i where he carried the ball once for eight yards and caught a pair of passes for 28 yards, including a long reception of 17 yards.

Steele High School, Williams was a two-sport standout who earned letters in football (3) and track & field (2) ... football team won the state championship his senior year ... garnered All-State (Texas) honors as a senior ... brother, LG, played football at Texas State ... also took recruiting visits to Columbia and Harvard ... father is a Major in the Army ... son of Gregory Sr. and Aprill Williams ... majoring in robotics and control engineering.
