•    At Navy: Enters the fall as the starter at defensive tackle after starting all 12 games there last year ... moved to defensive tackle for the 2022 season in the coaching staff’s effort to get the best defensive linemen on the field after backing up Donald Berniard Jr. at nose guard his first two years ... has earned 2 varsity letters.

•    2022: Played and started all 12 contests and finished the season with 29 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks ... Navy’s defense held Army, the second-leading rushing team in the country (304.4 yds/gm), to just 125 yards on the ground and 153 yards of total offense (avg 385.5 yds/gm) for the entire game ... Navy held the Black Knights without an offensive touchdown until overtime ... turned in a career-high 6 tackles against Army, including a half a tackle for loss ... Navy’s defense held UCF to 84 yards rushing after the Knights came in ranked #5 nationally with their 249.5 rushing yards per game average ... additionally, the Mids tallied a season-high tying 5 sacks for the third time in 2022 and the second-consecutive game ... part of a defensive unit that did not surrender a point in the second half against Notre Dame, marking the first time it has held a team scoreless in the second half since the 2021 Army game ... Notre Dame mustered just 66 yards rushing, the fewest by the Irish in the series since they rushed for 60 yards on Nov. 7, 2009 ... Navy held the Irish to just 12 yards in the second half (-23 R, 35 P) ... the Mids recorded a season-high tying 5 sacks (1.5 Colin Ramos, 1.5 John Marshall, 1 Rayuan Lane III, 0.5 Nicholas Straw, 0.5 Clay Cromwell) ... finished the game against the Irish with 4 tackles, a tackle for loss and half a sack ... chipped in a pair of tackles at Cincinnati ... Navy forced 4 Tulsa turnovers (3 interceptions / 1 fumble) ... turned in a pair of tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and a half a sack against the Golden Hurricane ... part of a defense that held Air Force, the nation’s top-ranked rushing team (412.2 yds/gm), to just 200 yards on the ground ... statistically had one of his best games, posting 4 tackles, tying his high with 1.5 tackles for loss and a half sack ... chipped in 3 tackles, including a tackle for loss against Memphis in the AAC opener ... earned his first-collegiate start in the Mids’ opener against Delaware where he posted 3 tackles ... part of a defense that produced 12 tackles for loss and 5 sacks in the opener against Delaware ... the 12 TFLs were the most by the Mids since recording 12 against Rice on Oct. 22, 2005, while the 5 sacks were the most since their 5 against USF on Oct. 19, 2019.

•    2021: Saw action in all 12 games and closed out the season with 15 tackles including 7 tackles for loss (second most on team) and 2.5 sacks ... also credited with 3 QB hurries and forced 2 fumbles ... part of a defensive unit that held Army scoreless in the second half, marking the first time Navy has shut out an opponent in the second half since its remarkable victory over Tulane in which the Mids outscored the Green Wave 27-0 to win 27-24 on Sept. 19, 2020 ... Navy also held Army, the No. 2-ranked rushing offense in the country averaging 301.2 yards per game, to just 124 yards rushing ... it was the Black Knights’ second-lowest rushing output during the season (108 vs. Air Force) ... turned in a pair of tackles, including a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss in the win over Army ... Navy’s defense held Temple to just 182 yards of total offense, the fewest by an opponent on the year ... the 14 points by Temple are the fewest by the Owls in the series since losing to Navy 42-6 in Annapolis on Nov. 18, 2006 ... turned in a pair of tackles against East Carolina, including a tackle for loss ... his lone tackle against Notre Dame was good for a loss ... turned in a pair of tackles at Tulsa, including a tackle for loss and sack ... forced a Golden Hurricane fumble that was recovered by Tulsa ... part of a defense that held #2 Cincinnati to just 271 yards (95R, 176P), the fewest yards by the Bearcats since Nov. 17, 2019 vs. Temple (stretched 19 games) ... the 271 yards of total offense by Cincinnati were the second fewest by a Navy opponent this season (225 by Air Force), while the 95-yard ground gain was the second-fewest rushing yards by an opponent this season (80 by SMU) and the 176 yards passing also marked the second fewest by an opponent in 2021 (49 by Air Force) ... also held Cincinnati to 27 points, the second fewest by the Bearcats during the regular season (beat Notre Dame 24-13) ... the Bearcats came into the game averaging 43.5 points (No. 6 nationally) ... credited with a QB hurry against Cincinnati ... recorded a pair of solo stops at Memphis ... his only tackle against SMU came by way of a sack of QB Tanner Mordecai in which he forced the fumble that was picked up and returned by Diego Fagot for the 20-yd touchdown in the second quarter ... it was the first forced fumble of his career ... part of a defensive unit that held UCF scoreless in the fourth quarter and allowed Navy to rally from 13 points down to earn its first win of the season ... recorded 3 tackles, including a tackle for loss at Houston ... in his first service academy game, he produced his first-career tackles (2), tackle for loss (0.5-2) and sack (0.5-2) vs. Air Force ... made his first-collegiate appearance in the opener against Marshall.

•    High School / Personal: A 2020 graduate of Oxford High School in Oxford, Miss., Cromwell was a two-sport athlete who earned letters in football (4) and track & field (2) ... earned 2019 First-Team All-Region honors as a tight end ... led the football team to the 2019 Mississippi Class 6A State Championship ... won the 2017 Region 1 Class 6A 300-meter hurdles and the 2018 Region 1 Class 6A 110-meter hurdles ... served as captain of the track & field team his junior and senior years ... member of the National Honor Society ... did not miss a day of class in high school ... high school teammate of fellow Navy football senior John Meagher ... father, Doug, served 34 years in the Marine Corps before retiring at the rank of Colonel in 2013 ... father attended Wittenberg where he was a member of the football team (1980-81) ...  uncle, David Henley, is a graduate of Southern Illinois where he played baseball (1985-89) ... son of Doug and Mylene Cromwell ... majoring in English.
