Ronnie Gillis is in his fourth year as the Director of Creative Design for Navy football.
Previously, Gillis spent six seasons at the University of Maine. From 2017 through the summer of 2022, Gillis served as the Assistant Director of Marketing for the Black Bears where he worked closely with men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer and baseball while assisting in various roles with Maine’s other varsity programs.
Gillis created and implemented marketing strategies for assigned teams while serving as the department’s lead graphic designer. Gillis had a lead role in designing. marketing and promotional graphic content and templates, schedule posters and marketing collateral, as well as advertising, banners and print materials.
Gillis also assisted with the production of video content for Maine’s social media pages and website along with helping manage Maine’s social media platforms. He oversaw all aspects of marketing and fan engagement on game day including coordinating in-game promotions, directing the in-game entertainment and public address services.
Prior to his role as Assistant Director of Marketing, Gillis spent one year as a producer for Maine’s ESPN3 broadcasts. In this role, he produced and directed games while assisting with all aspects of the broadcast operations. He worked closely with the broadcast talent and coaches to gather proper information for the broadcasts while analyzing game notes and statistics to properly prepare the broadcasts.
Gillis, a native of Freeport, Maine, graduated from the University of Maine in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in communications.
