• At Navy: Enters fall camp battling to get on the depth chart at center ... has good strength and plays hard.

• 2018: Saw his first-career action last year against Lehigh.

• High School / Personal: A 2016 graduate of Providence Day School, Cal was a three-sport athlete who earned letters in football (4), track & field (4) and wrestling (1) ... two-time First-Team All-State (N.C.) and first-team all-conference selection in football ... two-time All-State (2015-16) and three-time all-conference (2014-15-16) honoree in track & field (shot put) ... member of four state championship-winning track teams (2013-14-15-16) ... also earned all-conference recognition in wrestling in 2013 ... took recruiting visits to Army, Air Force and Columbia ... father graduated from Army West Point (‘85) and played rugby ... son of Paul and Lynette Cal ... carries a 3.92 grade point average ... chemistry major.
