At Navy: Enters the fall looking to add depth at outside linebacker ... has good speed and is a solid tackler ... performed well during spring drills ... had five tackles and a tackle for loss in the annual spring game ... has a great work ethic ... will be an important mentor to Navy[apos]s young outside linebackers.

2010: Moved from safety to outside linebacker in the spring and seemed to flourish in his new position ... entered the fall third on the depth chart at outside linebacker, but did not play in any games.

High School / Personal: A 2008 graduate of Carpinteria High School, Stein was a three-sport standout ... lettered three times in football, while also picking up letters in baseball and track ... garnered first-team all-county and first-team all-league recognition in football ... also a Los Angeles Times all-region selection ... invited to play in the county North-South All-Star Game ... received team MVP honors as a senior ... elected team captain of the football team his senior year ... son of Brad and Carla Stein ... majoring in international relations ... has a 3.07 GPA.
