•    At Navy: Elected co-captain along with Will Harbour by their teammates ... being named a team captain at the Naval Academy is one of the greatest honors a student-athlete can receive  ... has the honor of wearing No. 68 this year in memory of David Forney ... enters the fall listed as a starter at center ... has the positional flexibiltity to play guard as well ... a starter in 9 games over his career (3 So // 6 Jr) ... has earned 2 varsity letters.

• 2022: A starter in 6 of the 12 games in which he played ... saw limited action as a member of special teams (PAT/FG) in the first-four contests while recovering from injury, he settled in at center for the Tulsa game ... made his first of 6-consecutive starts in the home game against Houston ... part of an offensive line that allowed Navy to rush for 248 yards, the most UCF has allowed on the ground in 2022 ... part of an offensive unit that rattled off 363 yards of total offense against Notre Dame, the most against the Irish since its 368 yards on Nov. 5, 2016 ... Navy’s 108 yards passing were the most against the Irish since its 118 on Nov. 1, 2014 ... Navy’s 32 points were the most it has scored in the series since dropping a 49-39 contest to Notre Dame on Nov. 1, 2014 ... helped Navy amass 510 yards of total offense (372R / 138P) against SMU, the Mids’ first 500-yard game since Nov. 30, 2019 against Houston (447R / 107P / 554) ... it also marked the second-consecutive game Navy has rushed for 300-plus yards, the first time accomplishing that feat since 2019 when Navy did it the final 4 games ... Navy also recorded 32 first downs against SMU, the first time the Mids have had 30 first downs since Sept. 23, 2017 against Cincinnati (31) ... Navy had 101 plays against the Mustangs, the most since its 106 plays at Toledo (10-29-2013) ... part of an offensive line that allowed Navy to rush for 455 yards in the win over Tulsa ... it was the first time the Mids rushed for 400 yards since  Nov. 30, 2019, when Navy rushed for 447 yards at Houston ... the 455 yards rushing are the 25th most in program history and the most since the Mids rushed for 484 against Lehigh on Sept. 15, 2018 ... the 490 yards (455R / 35P) of total offense against Tulsa marked the most by Navy since recording 554 yards (447R / 107P) at Houston on Nov. 30, 2019 ... Navy’s 53 points are the most since defeating Houston 56-41 on Nov. 30, 2019 and ironically matched the number of points Navy had scored in its first-four games combined (7 vs. Delaware, 13 vs. Memphis, 23 vs. East Carolina, 10 vs. Air Force).

•    2021: A member of special teams (punt, PAT/FG), he saw action in all 12 games including making his collegiate debut in the opener against Marshall ... a starter in each of the last 3 games in which he played, he made his first-collegiate start in the Mids’ win at Tulsa ... suffered a season-ending injury against East Carolina ... part of an offensive line that paved the way for Carlinos Acie to rush for 155 yards against East Carolina, the most by a Navy slot back since Shun White’s remarkable 348-yard game against Towson on Aug. 30, 2008 ... it also allowed Acie to score a 90-yard touchdown, the fifth-longest run in program history and the longest run since Malcolm Perry’s 92-yarder against SMU on Nov. 11, 2017.

•    High School / Personal:  A 2019 graduate of North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., Murtezi attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2019-20 academic year ... three-sport athlete who lettered in basketball (2), football (4) and track & field (4) ... 2018 Pennsylvania Football Writers Class 5A First-Team All-State selection, as well as First-Team  Big 56 All-Conference ... selected to play in the 2019 PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic between all-star teams from Pennsylvania and Maryland ... served as football team captain his junior and senior years ... high school classmate, Tyler Brennan, is a senior on the Army football team ... born and raised in Kosovo ... son of Ismet and Fatime Murtezi ... majoring in political science.
