•    At Navy: A starter in 30-consecutive games dating back to his freshman year (6 Fr // 12 So // 12 Jr) ... has played in all 36 games in his career ... enters the fall as a starter at free safety ... has earned 3 varsity letters.

• 2023: A starter in all 12 contests, he garnered Third-Team All-AAC honors ... closed out the year 3rd on the team in tackles (66), tied for 1st in interceptions (4) and 1st in pass breakups (8) ... also had 3 tackles for loss, a half a sack, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery ... his 4 interceptions were tied with teammate Dashaun Peele for the 16th most in the country ... pitched in 4 tackles and a pass breakup against Army ... turned in 6 solo tackles at SMU ... helped lead Navy to a 10-0 win over East Carolina and its third shutout of the season which is the most in the FBS this season ... it’s the first time Navy has recorded 3 shutouts in a season since 1978 when the Mids shut out 4 teams (Virginia, Connecticut, William & Mary, Army) ... it also marked the 4th team Navy held without a touchdown this season (Wagner 0 pts, Charlotte 0 pts, UAB 2FGs, ECU 0 pts) ... held the Pirates to just 189 yards of total offense, the fewest by a Navy opponent this season ... chipped in season-high 7 tackles and a half a tackle for loss against ECU ... the 6 points scored by UAB were its fewest since dropping a 49-6 decision to Florida Atlantic on Dec. 7, 2019 ... that was also the last time the Blazers did not score a touchdown ... intercepted UAB QB Jacob Zeno and returned it 97 yards for a touchdown ... it’s the first interception returned for a TD by a Navy player since Diego Fagot’s 17-yard return against Tulane (10-26-19) ... it was the longest interception return in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium history ... the previous long was 95 yards by Gerald Wilson against VMI (10-18-1997) ... it was the second-longest interception return in American Athletic Conference history (100 yds by Josh Hawkins of East Carolina vs. Tulsa, 10-17-15) ... it was the second-longest interception return in Navy history behind John Raster’s 100-yard return against Army (12-1-51) ... it tied as the fifth-longest play in program history ... also chipped in 5 tackles against the Blazers ... turned in 6 tackles, including 5 solo stops, at Temple ... part of a defensive effort that held the nation’s leader in rushing, Air Force (334.2 yds/gm), to just 137 yards, while also holding the Falcons to just 1 of 13 (.077) on third downs after coming into the game #1 in the country (.594) ... posted a season-high 7 tackles, including half a tackle for loss against Air Force, while also forcing a fumble that was recovered by teammate Dashaun Peele .. Navy’s defense recorded its second shutout of the season with a 14-0 win over Charlotte ... the Mids held the 49ers to just 265 yards of total offense (123R/142P), while Navy posted 7 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, broke up 6 passes and force 3 turnovers (2 INT, 1 fumble) ... posted 4 tackles, including a tackle for loss, broke up a pass and recorded his third interception of the season against Charlotte ... part of a defense that recorded a school-record 8 sacks and posted 10 tackles for loss in the win over North Texas ... the defense also forced and recovered 2 fumbles ... turned in 6 tackles, including half a sack and had a QB hurry against the Mean Green ... the defense held USF quarterback Byrum Brown (ranked #1 among QB’s in yards per game at 87.8) to -27 yards on the ground, but gave up 338 yards and 3 TDs through the air ... posted a season-high tying 6 tackles and recovered a fumble against the Bulls ... tallied a season-high 6 tackles, broke up 2 passes and returned his second interception of the year for 25 yards in Navy’s AAC opener at Memphis ... part of a defensive unit that held Wagner scoreless, as Navy produced its first shutout since defeating Army 34-0 on Dec. 6, 2008 ... it was also the Mids’ first shutout at home since beating Lafayette 7-0 on Oct. 15, 1994 ... turned in 4 tackles, including half a tackle for loss against the Seahawks ... broke up 2 passes for a second-consecutive game ... picked off QB Damien Mazil with 48 seconds remaining in the half, setting up an eventual touchdown on a 12-yard TD pass from Tai Lavatai to Camari Williams to go into the break ... recorded 5 solo tackles, forced a fumble and broke up 2 passes in the Mids’ opener against Notre Dame. 

• 2022: A starter in all 12 contests, he closed out the season third on the team in tackles (71) and pass breakups (4) ... he also had 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack ... Navy’s defense held Army, the second-leading rushing team in the country (304.4 yds/gm), to just 125 yards on the ground and 153 yards of total offense (avg 385.5 yds/gm) for the entire game ... Navy held the Black Knights without an offensive touchdown until overtime ... recorded 4 tackles against Army ... Navy’s defense held UCF to 84 yards rushing after the Knights came in ranked #5 nationally with their 249.5 rushing yards per game average ... additionally, the Mids tallied a season-high tying 5 sacks for the third time in 2022 and the second-consecutive game ... turned in 4 tackles, including a tackle for loss in the win over nationally-ranked UCF ... part of a defensive unit that did not surrender a point in the second half against Notre Dame, marking the first time it has held a team scoreless in the second half since the 2021 Army game ... Notre Dame mustered just 66 yards rushing, the fewest by the Irish in the series since they rushed for 60 yards on Nov. 7, 2009 ... Navy held the Irish to just 12 yards in the second half (-23 R, 35 P) ... the Mids recorded a season-high tying 5 sacks (1.5 Colin Ramos, 1.5 John Marshall, 1 Rayuan Lane III, 0.5 Nicholas Straw, 0.5 Clay Cromwell) ... along with Colin Ramos, led Navy with 7 tackles against the Irish, while also recording his first-career sack and a tackle for loss ... recorded 8 tackles at Cincinnati ... Navy’s defense held Temple to just 20 yards rushing, the fourth fewest in the Niumatalolo era and the third time in 2022 Navy held an opponent to 25 or fewer yards rushing (13 by Delaware, 25 by Tulsa) ... despite Temple allowing just 4 sacks all year, Navy sacked the Owls 4 times ... Navy’s defense also forced Temple to punt 7 times, tying (Delaware) for the most by an opponent in 2022 ... chipped in 4 tackles in the win over Temple ... recorded a career-high tying 10 tackles, including a half a tackle for loss against Houston ... also broke up a pass, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble ... along with Nicholas Straw, was Navy’s leader in tackles against SMU with 4 ... member of a Navy defenisve unit that held Tulsa to just 25 yards rushing ... the Mids recorded their first safety  (intentional grounding in the end zone by Tulsa QB Davis Brin // 2Qtr) since the Tulane game on Sept. 19, 2020 ... Navy forced 4 Tulsa turnovers (3 interceptions / 1 fumble) ... recorded 3 tackles and recovered a fumble, the first of his career, in the win over the Golden Hurricane ... additionally, on 4th-and 3, he ran for 28 yards on a fake punt (3Qtr) for a first down ... it was his first-career rush ... part of a defense that held Air Force, the nation’s top-ranked rushing team (412.2 yds/gm), to just 200 yards on the ground ... led the team with 9 tackles against the Falcons, including 7 solo stops ... produced 5 tackles and broke up 2 passes in the Mids’ win at East Carolina ... turned in 7 tackles in the Mids’ AAC opener against Memphis ... made the start at free safety in the opener against Delaware where he made 6 stops, forced a fumble and broke up a pass ... part of a defense that produced 12 tackles for loss and 5 sacks in the opener against Delaware ... the 12 TFLs were the most by the Mids since recording 12 against Rice on Oct. 22, 2005, while the 5 sacks were the most since their 5 against USF on Oct. 19, 2019.

•    2021: Saw action in all 12 games and started at safety in each of the last 6 contests ... closed out the season with 37 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss ... also broke up 4 passes, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble ... part of a defensive unit that held Army scoreless in the second half, marking the first time Navy has shut out an opponent in the second half since its remarkable victory over Tulane in which the Mids outscored the Green Wave 27-0 to win 27-24 on Sept. 19, 2020 ... Navy also held Army, the No. 2-ranked rushing offense in the country averaging 301.2 yards per game, to just 124 yards rushing ... it was the Black Knights’ second-lowest rushing output during the season (108 vs. Air Force) ... posted 3 tackles and broke up a pass in the win over Army ... recorded 4 solo tackles at Temple ... Navy’s defense held Temple to just 182 yards of total offense, the fewest by an opponent on the year ... the 14 points by Temple are the fewest by the Owls in the series since losing to Navy 42-6 in Annapolis on Nov. 18, 2006 ... along with Eavan Gibbons, led Navy with a career-high 10 tackles against East Carolina, including a tackle for loss ... also forced a fumble, the first of his career ... paced the team with 9 tackles at Notre Dame, including his first-career tackle for loss ... turned in a pair of tackles at Tulsa and recorded his first-career interception, picking off Davis Brin in the end zone ... part of a defense that held #2 Cincinnati to just 271 yards (95R, 176P), the fewest yards by the Bearcats since Nov. 17, 2019 vs. Temple (stretched 19 games) ... the 271 yards of total offense by Cincinnati were the second fewest by a Navy opponent on the year (225 by Air Force), while the 95-yard ground gain was the second-fewest rushing yards by an opponent this season (80 by SMU) and the 176 yards passing also marked the second fewest by an opponent in 2021 (49 by Air Force) ... also held Cincinnati to 27 points, the second fewest by the Bearcats during the regular season (beat Notre Dame 24-13) ... the Bearcats came into the game averaging 43.5 points (No. 6 nationally) ... made his first-collegiate start against Cincinnati where he recorded a career-high 4 tackles ... turned in 3 tackles at Memphis and also broke up a pass ... produced the first-two tackles of his career in the Mids’ road contest at Houston ... made his collegiate debut in the opener against Marshall where he broke up a pass.

• High School / Personal: A 2021 graduate of Gilman School in Baltimore, Md., Lane III was a three-sport athlete who earned letters in basketball (3), football (2) and track & field (3) ... garnered 2019 All-MIAA honors in football ... led Gilman in rushing and returned punts and kickoffs, scoring seven touchdowns in just two games in 2020 ... also received an offer from Army ... mother, Felecia, is a graduate of Kent State where she was a member of the softball team ... son of William and Felecia Lane ... majoring in quantitative economics.
