Biography

As a Junior: Jimmy competed in eight regattas as a skipper and a member of the match race team ... his best results included a victory at the Intrepid Trophy with the match race team and a victory at the Arrigan Memorial Regatta.

As a Sophomore: Jimmy competed in six regattas as a skipper, four regattas as a crew, and four regattas as a reserve heavy air specialist including the ICSA Team Race National Championship ... some of his best results were a fourth at the Charleston Spring Coed, and a victory at the Team Race Challenge.

As a Freshman: Jimmy sailed in seven events his freshman year as a skipper ... he had three top-five finishes including a second place in A division at the Central Fall and a third place in B division at the David Lee Arnoff.

Prior to Navy: Grew up in Newport Beach, Calif. ... graduated from Corona del Mar High School in 2014 ... sailed out of Newport Harbor Yacht Club ... competed nationally and internationally in many different disciplines, including team racing, match racing and double-handed fleet racing ... son of Nick and Maureen Madigan ... father graduated from the Naval Academy in 1981 and was a member of the intercollegiate sailing team ... brother to former teammate Michael.
