Naval Academy Athletics

As a Junior: In his junior year on the team, Lukas sailed a total of seven events serving as both a skipper in coed and team racing and also as a heavy air crew. His top achievements include winning the Arrigan Memorial Regatta as the A division skipper and winning the Tom Noble Team race. As a Sophomore: In Lukas[apos] second year on the team, he sailed in a total of11 events both as a skipper as well as a heavy air crew. His top achievements come in the form of a 3rd place finish in B division at the Owen Trophy, hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, as a skipper in the 16-team deep event. Also of mention was a win in B division as a heavy air crew at the very competitive Truxtun Umsted Regatta hosted by the Academy. Lukas competed as a heavy air crew at the Coed Dinghy Nationals. As a Freshman: In his freshman year at the Academy, Lukas competed in 8 events as both a skipper and a heavy air crew. His top successes were a win a the New York Maritime Open, where he skippered in A division, as well as a 3rd place finish in A division skippering at the SAISA/MAISA. Prior to Navy: Grew up in Ossining, NY and graduated from Hackley School in 2009. Son of Harald and Debbie Edegran and has a younger brother Markus. Sailed optis and 420s before coming to Navy. Majoring in Systems Engineering.
