• Landed in 20th place at Army in the Star Meet with his 28:43.2 clocking

• Attended Grand Ledge High School, where he earned two letters in cross country and track
• Named all-area and team captain of both teams during his senior year
• Won the mile run at the 2007 league championship
• Member of regional-champion 4x800-meter relay team
