A 2023 graduate of Poland Seminary High School in Poland, Ohio … Earned varsity letters in cross country (4) and track and field (3) … Received First-Team All-Ohio accolades in cross country sophomore and junior seasons … Garnered conference runner-of-the-year honors in cross country freshman, sophomore and junior years … Named Mahoning Valley County Cross Country Runner of the Year and was recognized as the WYTV Cross Country and Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Year senior season … Helped Poland Seminary win a district championship in cross country freshman year … Member of the 4x800m relay team that claimed All-Ohio honors sophomore year … Served as president of National Honor Society and vice president of student council … Was an Ohio State Eminence Fellow Finalist … Earned an AP Scholar Award … Son of Jeff Flament and Sarah Hixson … Mother, Sarah, competed in cross country and track and field at North Dakota State and UW-La Crosse … She was a two-time All-American during her collegiate career and competed in the marathon at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials … Hixson has also raced in the Boston Marathon eight times.
