Biography

• 2024 Second-Team All-Patriot League

2024 // Freshman Year

• A 2024 Second-Team All-Patriot League selection, he is one of only 5 Navy freshmen all-time to garner All-Patriot League accolades, joining midfielder Basil Daratsos (2007), faceoff specialist Brady Dove (2014), defenseman Jackson Bonitz (2021) and Zach Hayashi (2024)
• A starter at close defense in 6 of the 15 games in which he played, he finished the year with 6 caused turnovers, 26 ground balls, 2 goals and 3 assists ... moved to long-stick midfield after the 5th game of the year due to injuries at that position 
• He was part of a unit that was ranked 24th nationally and led the Patriot League in scoring defense (10.75) ... the Mids held 7 of their 16 opponents to single digits (Mount St. Mary’s, Hofstra, Boston U., Johns Hopkins, Holy Cross, Colgate, Lafayette)
• Scored a goal, grabbed 3 ground balls and forced a turnover in the Mids’ Patriot League Semifinals loss to Lehigh
• Member of a Navy defensive that held Loyola scoreless for 22:58 between the 3rd (13:03) and 4th (5:05) quarters in the Patriot League Quarterfinals ... it allowed Navy to go on a 3-0 run and take the lead for good
• Dealt out his 3rd assist of the year in the loss to Loyola (4.19) where he also caused a turnover
• Navy’s defense held #12 Army scoreless for 27:27, including the entire 3rd quarter, allowing the Mids to go on a 5-0 run and tie the game early in the 4th quarter
• Turned in a career-high 5 ground balls and had a caused turnover against the Black Knights
• Led a Navy defensive effort that held Lafayette to single digits for the 22nd time in the 25-game series history ... it marked the 7th time this spring Navy has held an opponent under 10 goals
• Navy’s defensive unit held #17 Colgate to just 2 goals over nearly a 30-minute stretch (8:06 1Qtr - 8:26 4Qtr), allowing Navy to overcome an early 4-0 deficit and eventual 10-9 win ...  the Mids held Colgate, who came into the game averaging 13.00 goals per game, to single digits (9) for just the 2nd time (Villanova) this season
• Grabbed 3 ground balls and had a takeaway against Colgate
• Part of a Navy defense that held #8 Johns Hopkins to single digits for the first time this season (avg. 13.00) ... also held the Blue Jays to just 3 goals over the final 48-plus minutes, including forcing scoring droughts of 22:41 between the 1st and 3rd quarters and 19:21 between the 3rd and 4th quarters
• Moved to long-stick midfielder for the Lehigh game where he took 2 shots and grabbed a pair of ground balls
• Navy’s defense held Boston U. scoreless for nearly 22 minutes between the 2nd (3:33) and 4th (11:44) quarters, while Navy went on a 5-0 run and built a 6-goal advantage (12-6) ... the Mids contained the high-powered offense that entered the game averaging 13.5 goals per game
• Marked BU’s Louis Perfetto who entered the game ranked #2 nationally in points per game (7.00), #3 in goals per game (4.25) and #14 assists per game (2.75) ... held him to 1 goal on 5 shots and forced him into 5 turnovers
• Dealt out an assist to Henry Tolker against BU, as Navy scored its first man-down goal since 2015
• Member of Navy’s defensive unit that held Hofstra scoreless for over 19 minutes between the 1st and 3rd quarters, allowing Navy to put together a 6-0 run and hold an 8-2 halftime lead and eventual 16-8 win
• Dealt out his first-career assist, grabbed 3 ground balls and forced a turnover against the Pride.
• Made his collegiate debut as a starter in the Mids’ 19-6 win over Mount St. Mary’s in the opener ... scored his first-collegiate goal on his first-career shot and also grabbed a pair of ground balls

High School 
• 2023 graduate of the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md.
• Four-year lacrosse letter winner
• Ranked #6 on Inside Lacrosse’s 2023 Power Freshmen Rankings ... the top-ranking defenseman among the top 100 rookies, he was the only defensive player ranked in the top 10
• The team captain his senior year, he led McDonogh to consecutive (2022, ‘23) Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA ) titles, becoming only the third MIAA team to repeat in league history
• Named the 2023 USA Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Region Boys’ Player of the Year after anchoring a defense that allowed only one double-digit scoring game by an opponent all year (14-13 OT loss to Loyola-Blakefield
• Named the 2023 MIAA Player of the Year and garnered All-MIAA honors
• Also named the Baltimore Sun Player of the Year and Baltimore Banner/VSN Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year
• 2023 USA Lacrosse All-American
• Invited to play in the Senior New Balance All-America Game
• Divisional winner (private school north region) of the 2023 Kelly Award and was a finalist for the overall Kelly Award
• Recorded 20 caused turnovers, 46 ground balls, scored 4 goals and added 4 assists his senior year

Personal
• Son of Steve and Kristin Marsh
• Majoring in Quantitative Economics, he owns a 3.12 grade-point average
• Has earned Commandant’s (F2023) and Dean’s (F2024) List accolades
• Sister, Isabella (Izzy) Marsh, is a 2024 graduate of Duke where she was a member of the  women’s lacrosse team
• High school teammates Aidan Hurdle (Jr), Zach Hayashi (So) and Chase Green (Fr) are also members of the Navy lacrosse team
