• 2020, ‘21 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

• A starter in 13 of the 25 games in which he has played over his career - 10 Fr // 0 So // 3 Jr

2021 // Junior Year
• A starter in 3 of the 8 games in which he played, he scored 9 points on 9 goals for the Mids
• Led the team with 6 man-up goals, tied as the 11th most in Div. I during 2021 and the second most in the Patriot League (Lehigh’s Justin Tiernan, 7) ... played at least 2 games less than the players ahead of him, including the 5 players who also notched 6 extram-man goals
• Sweeney’s 6 extra-man goals are the most by a Navy player since Harrison Chaires turned in 7 in 2011 ... ironically, that same season Chaires turned in a hat trick made up of extra-man targets in Navy’s win over Holy Cross (3.19.11)
• As a team, the Mids’ extra-man offense converted 13 goals on 30 opportunities (43.3) which ranked #13 nationally and #1 in the Patriot League along with Boston U.
• Made his third start of the season in the Mids’ regular-season finale at Lafayette where he punched in a goal and grabbed a career-best 7 ground balls
• Scored 3 extra-man goals in the Mids’ win at #15 Loyola (4.17) ... he is the first Navy player to scored 3 man-up goals in a single game since Tyler Perreten targeted 3 in the Mids’ game at Lehigh in 2020
• Made the start against Bucknell in the league opener, where he recorded his second-career hat trick and first since his freshman year against Lafayette
• Paced Navy with a pair of goals - both on extra man - in the Mids’ win over Mount St. Mary’s in the opener

2020 // Sophomore Year
• Scored his lone goal of the season on an extra-man strike in Navy’s win over Colgate
• Was held without a point for the first time in his career in the Mids’ opener against Manhattan ... took just one shot in a reserve role

2019 // Freshman Year
• A starter in 10 of the 13 games in which he played, he amassed 23 points on 16 goals and 7 assists ... also contributed 8 caused turnovers and 17 ground balls
• Joined Ryan Wade as the only Navy players who produced a point in all 13 games in 2019
• Scored a goal in 11 of the 13 contests (Vermont, Army)
• He and classmate Nick Cole scored 23 and 29 points this season, respectively ... it’s the first freshman tandem to score 20 points apiece since Tucker Hull and Sam Jones scored 38 points apiece in 2011
• Recorded assists on 5 of Navy’s 9 extra-man goals, including each of the first 3 ... also had an extra-man goal to his credit
• His 8 caused turnovers are tied as the seventh most by a Navy freshman in program history
• Scored a pair of goals and forced 2 turnovers in the Mids’ win over #16 Boston U.
• Scored Navy’s first two goals against #9 Syracuse
• Had his 9-game goal-scoring streak snapped by Army, though he extended his point-scoring streak with an assist ... also caused a turnover
• Turned in a goal and an assist in the Mids’ come-from-behind victory at Colgate
• Chipped in a pair of goals against #17 Lehigh, including his first career extra-man target
• Scored a goal, grabbed a career-high 4 ground balls and caused a turnover against #9 Loyola
• Produced his first collegiate hat trick with 3 goals and an assist for a career-best 4 points at Lafayette
• Making his first collegiate start, he turned in a goal and an assist against Bucknell in the league opener
• Contributed a goal and an assist against #3 Maryland
• Turned in the first multiple-point game of his career, scoring his first collegiate goal and adding an assist in the win over UMBC
• Made his collegiate debut in the Mids’ opener against Vermont where he provided the assist on Nick Cole’s extra-man goal

• 2018 graduate of McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md.
• Three-sport athlete who earned letters in basketball (2), lacrosse (3) and water polo (4)
• Led the lacrosse team to the 2016 league crown
• Garnered all-conference honors in water polo, while leading the team to back-to-back league titles in 2016 and ‘17

• Son of Brian and Ellen Sweeney
• His service assignment is Naval Officer
• Majoring in Ocean Engineering, he owns a 3.27 grade-point average
• Has earned Commandant’s (F2018, S2019, F2019, S2020, F2020, S2021, F2021) List accolades multiple times, while also being named to the Superintenden’ts (F2021) and Dean’s (S2021) Lists
• Also considered Bucknell, Lafayette, Mercer and Tufts
• High school teammate of Chris Smith, who is a sophomore defenseman on the Navy lacrosse team
• Brother, Brian, is a 2012 graduate of the Naval Academy and was a member of the swimming and diving team
• Brother, Danny, is a 2017 graduate of Villanova where he played defense for the lacrosse team
