Biography

2020 // Junior Year
• Paired up with Jeff Durden at long-stick defensive midfield in all 5 contests
• Part of a defensive unit that finished the shortened 2020 campaign ranked #11 nationally in both scoring defense (9.40) and man-down defense (11-14, 78.6)
• Navy’s defensive unit held Furman without a goal for 51:44, the longest it has held an opponent scoreless since 3.3.09, when it held Mount St. Mary’s off the board for 53:04 in a 6-2 win.
• The 3 goals scored by Furman were the fewest goals Navy has given up since defeating Sacred Heart, 7-1, on 4.22.16 ... the Paladins also got off just 16 shots, including 7 on goal.
• The defense held Manhattan to 4 goals against in the opener ... the Jaspers also got off just 27 shots

2019 // Sophomore Year
• Played in all 13 contests and started the first seven games at close defense (also played LSM)
• Navy’s leader in caused turnovers with 10, while also contributing 26 ground balls and provided a pair of assists
• Named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week following the Mids’ win over #16 Boston U. ... was responsible for one of the biggest plays in the game ... with under eight minutes to go in the contest and the Mids’ two men down, he intercepted a pass in Boston’s offensive box box to squelch the Terriers’ EMO ... also tasked with matching up against the nation’s seventh-leading goal scorer in senior attackman James Burr ... after scoring a goal in both the first and second quarters, Mandish held Burr scoreless for 38 minutes between the second and fourth quarters ... he also aided Cole’s goal in the opening minutes of the game, marking just his second career point
• Forced two Syracuse turnovers to lead the way on defense
• Navy’s defense held Army to just 2 second-half goals, while the Mids outscored the Black Knights 5-2 over the final 30 minutes to force overtime ... turned in a pair of caused turnovers against the Black Knights
• Part of a defensive unit that held Colgate scoreless over the final 18:46, as Navy rallied from two goals down in the fourth quarter to win 16-11 ... produced his first collegiate point, dealing out an assist to Nick Cole in transition against the Raiders
• Part of a strong defensive effort by the Mids against Lafayette that saw the Mids keep the Leopards off the scoreboard for 21:53 (1:12 1Qtr - 9:19 3Qtr) ... Navy gave up just 3 goals to the Leopards over the first 3 quarters of play
• Paced the team with a career-best 3 caused turnovers and grabbed a pair of ground balls against Bucknell
• Navy’s defense held UMBC to just 3 goals over the final 3 quarters and scoreless in the fourth
• Made his collegiate debut as a member of the Mids’ starting defensive unit in the opener against Vermont ... grabbed 5 ground balls and held starter Dawes Milchling to a goal and an assist, both of which were recorded over the final 6 minutes of the game ... Milchling paced the Catamounts in their opener against Utah with 6 points (2G, 4A)
• Part of a defensive unit that held Vermont to 4 goals in the first 50 minutes of action

• Majoring in Political Science, he owns a 3.04 grade-point average
• Has earned Commandant’s (F2018, F2019, S2020, F2020) List accolades multiple times
• Attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2016-17 academic year
• Also considered Delaware, Fairfield and High Point
• Brother, Joel, is a junior at the Naval Academy and is also a member of the lacrosse team
• High school teammates Tyler Perreten (Sr), Jacob Jarosz (Jr), Charles Marculewicz (So) and Jonathan Jarosz (Fr) are also members of the Mids’ lacrosse team
