2017 (Jr.): Appeared in 13 of the 14 games, winning 30 of the 56 draws (53.6) he took ... won two of the three draws he took against Holy Cross in the Patriot League Quarterfinals ... grabbed three ground balls and went 3-for-5 against Dartmouth ... won five of the 12 faceoffs he took in the loss at #17 Loyola ... split time with starter Brady Dove at Lafayette where he won seven of the 10 draws he took and picked up three ground balls ... won three of the four faceoffs he took against Penn, where he also fired off his first shot of the year ... won one of the two draws he took against Boston U. ... played a good portion of the second half of the Delaware game where he won five of the seven faceoffs and grabbed a career-high five ground balls ... won three of the six draws he took against Johns Hopkins in the opener.

2016 (So.): Won 1 of 4 draws against Brown in the NCAA Quarterfinals and picked up a pair of ground balls ... teamed up with Brady Dove to win 16 of the 26 draws against Yale in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament ... Varello claimed 5 of the 7 faceoffs he took in the contest ... also picked up 2 ground balls ... took Navy’s final 8 draws in its win over Army, winning each of the last 3 including the overtime faceoff ... went 1 for 2 against Colgate and paired up with Brady Dove for a 18 to 8 advantage over the Raiders ... teamed up with Brady Dove to capture 15 of the 19 draws in the win over Holy Cross ... won 2 of the 3 faceoffs he took ... was 1 for 1 at Lehigh and grabbed a ground ball in the win ... played a hand in Navy’s domination in the faceoff game against Bucknell where the Mids won 17 of the 23 draws ... Brady Dove was 15 of 21, while Varello was 2 for 2 ... won 6 of the 13 draws in Navy’s league opener at Boston U.

2015 (Fr.): Played in 13 of the 14 games and won 53.2 percent (33-62) of the draws he took ... won both of the faceoffs he took in the win over #13 Army West Point ... was 2 for 5 in a relief effort against #20 Loyola ... combined forces with the nation’s top-ranked faceoff specialist and teammate Brady Dove to win the battle against Boston U.’s Sam Talkow, ranked #2 nationally ... Varello was 5 for 10, while Dove was 8 for 14 ... Varello also grabbed a career-high tying 4 ground balls ... took 2 draws against Lehigh and won both ... won 4 of the 8 faceoffs he took in the Mids’ win over Lafayette ... grabbed a pair of grounders ... claimed 4 of the 8 draws he took against #17 Johns Hopkins and picked up 3 ground balls ... won 1 of the 2 faceoffs at #19 Holy Cross, grabbed a ground ball and took a shot ... made his collegiate debut in the Mids’ opener against VMI where he won 11 of the 16 draws he took and grabbed 4 ground balls.
