Has followed in the footsteps of some of the premier defensemen in Navy[apos]s rich history ... named a Third-Team All-American, the first Midshipman off the defensive unit to garner All-America honors since Chad Donnelly was named to the third team in 2000 ... recognized as a First-Team All-Patriot League selection ... assigned the opposition[apos]s top scorer in every game this season, including First-Team All-Americans Mike Powell of Syracuse, Ryan Boyle of Princeton, Jed Prossner of North Carolina and Joe Walters of Maryland ... voted by the media as a member of the all-tournament team for the 2004 NCAA Tournament, along with teammate Ben Bailey ... along with classmate Clipper Lennon, was the recipient of the Coach Willis P. Bilderback Award, given to Navy[apos]s most outstanding defensive player ... grabbed 43 ground balls, including a career-high seven at Maryland in the Mids[apos] first documented win over a top-ranked team ... helped spearhead a defense which gave up double-digit scoring just four times with three of the four coming in losses ... served as the veteran player of the defense, having started nine games as a sophomore, he played and started all 18 in 2004.
2003:
Earned starting roles in nine of the 13 games last season, including the last eight games ... one of the youngest members of the starting defensive unit which was anchored by All-American Chris Stebbings ... produced 13 ground balls, scooping up four against Georgetown in a heartbreaking overtime loss ... picked up two apiece against Stony Brook, Maryland and Army.
2002:
Played in 10 contests, including the Georgetown, Johns Hopkins and Army games ... grabbed five ground balls, including a career-high three at Mount St. Mary[apos]s.

Earned letters in soccer (4) and lacrosse (2) at Boys[apos] Latin in Baltimore, Md. ... garnered all-county, All-State (Md.) and All-America honors his senior campaign ... also named 2001 team ... among the top-five high school defensemen in the country in 2001 ... served as team captain in 2001 ... served as Student Council Secretary, Vice President of the National Honor Society and Debate Team President while at Boys[apos] Latin ... son of Byrl and Sally Hendler.
