Naval Academy Athletics

Chris Allsopp is in his 15th year at Navy, where he serves as Associate Director of Rowing, manages Hubbard Hall and maintains all of its rowing equipment. He also provides finishing advice to varsity crews and training plebes and lower boat varsity student-athletes.

Allsopp had a total of 12 years of head crew coaching experience at the collegiate level prior to his arrival in Annapolis. He spent nine years as head coach at the University of New Hampshire and three years at the helm of Wayne State University. He had also worked at the U.S. Rowing Association as Assistant National Sculling Team Coach for a year and a half and spent six years as Varsity Crew Coach, Dean of Students and English Teacher at South Kent School (Conn.).

Allsopp earned his bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Washington in 1977. He currently resides in Arnold with his wife, Susie, and their four children.
